About the Company:
We are a high-growth, acquisition-focused marketing and digital services platform operating across multiple entities. Our creative department is the engine behind our clients' success, and we are committed to never compromising on quality, leveraging a Software-First approach to deliver high-fidelity web experiences that drive results for our global portfolio of agencies.
About the Role:
This is a player-coach leadership role that requires a rare blend of elite design talent and operational management skills. As our Head of Design (Web UI/UX), you are not just a visionary designer; you are the guardian of quality for our entire design department. Your mission is to split your time between hands-on high-level design (approx. 60%) and the mentorship and management of our broader design team (approx. 40%).
The ideal profile is a Senior Designer who has transitioned into leadership. You must be detail-obsessed and capable of spotting a missed best practice or an inefficient workflow from a mile away. We are specifically looking for a specialist in Web UI/UX - someone whose brain is wired for website conversion and aesthetics rather than just app product interfaces. You will be the person who ensures that when we deliver a project, the client is amazed by the speed, efficiency, and visual excellence of the work.
Key Responsibilities
This role serves as the creative and operational anchor of our design department, ensuring every output meets our high-growth standards.
Design Leadership & Quality Control
- Creative Oversight: Review the work of junior and mid-level designers to ensure best practices in typography, layout, and UX are strictly followed.
- The "Wow" Factor: Lead by example by handling 50–60% of high-priority design tasks, producing work that sets the standard for the rest of the team.
- Feedback Loops: Provide direct, actionable advice to designers to improve their craft and ensure brand consistency across all multi-entity projects.
Operational Management
- Efficiency Tracking: Monitor team output and "time-on-task" (e.g., identifying why a 5-hour task took 10 hours) to keep projects on track and within budget.
- Resource Mentorship: Advise and upskill the team on web-specific best practices, ensuring the department remains lean and highly productive.
- Process Optimization: Help document and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the design-to-development handoff.
Strategic Collaboration
- Stakeholder Alignment: Work closely with the Chief of Staff and CEO to ensure the design team is scaling at the same pace as our rapid sales growth.
- Portfolio Management: Curate and maintain an elite internal portfolio of our best web designs to support future M&A and business development efforts.
Qualifications
Required
- Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Figma and Webflow is a non-negotiable requirement.
- Specialization: Proven track record specifically in Web UI/UX Design (marketing websites, landing pages, and conversion-focused design).
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience managing or leading a team of designers in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Exceptional English proficiency with the ability to provide constructive, professional feedback and manage client expectations.
Preferred
- Agency Background: Prior experience in a marketing agency or a high-growth digital services platform.
- AI-Native: Deep working knowledge of current AI design tooling and workflows, with a track record of using them to meaningfully increase speed, quality, and leverage across teams.
- Multi-Disciplinary: Bonus points for experience in motion design or 3D graphics, though the core focus remains Web UI/UX.
- Portfolio: A portfolio that demonstrates elite talent, efficiency, and a deep understanding of modern web aesthetics.
